Cart Use Policy at Waahi Taakaro Golf Club

All players wishing to use a cart in men’s club competitions must provide a medical certificate to either the men's captain, his representative or the starter prior to playing. The certificate must state the period it is valid for, with starting and ending dates. A copy of the certificate will kept on file in the office. In the event of adverse ground conditions, the final decision on cart use will be determined by the greenkeeper, course manager or match committee.

NOTE: This rule covers all club competitions where there are prizes (money, trophies, points etc) at stake over the entire year (winter and summer seasons). Medical certificates must be kept current. For those with ongoing medical complaints or disabilities, the certificate must state that the disability prevents you from playing golf without a cart. These certificates need to be renewed every year. To save cost, this could be done when next visiting their doctor. Some will issue one after a phone request. It must have a start and end date, even if the end date simply says "indefinitely'' for those with permanent ailments. For those with more temporary injuries, their certificate must have specific start and end dates and is only good for that period. This policy does not apply to Golden Oldies club competitions.

Cart hire

All persons who drive any motorised golf cart on the golf course must be at least 18 years old and hold a full car driver's licence. There is a maximum of two persons per cart.

Unless it has been booked through the club secretary/manager and the hirer's name and date of use entered in the book hanging by the locker room door, cart use is on a first come, first serve basis. Prompt payment must be made to the secretary/manager. Carts must be driven carefully and any problems reported immediately. When finished the user must return them to the locked area and make sure they are plugged in so they can recharge.
