5-week introduction to golf programme starting January 17
The Waahi Taakaro Golf Club invites juniors and their families to take part in a 5-week introduction to golf programme starting on January 17.
This is a fun way to learn how to play a great game.
Sessions will start at 4.30pm and last 45 minutes for juniors 8 years of age and older. Mums, dads and grandparents are most welcome to come along and join in. Registration will cost $10.00 per family, but is free to families of club members.
Some equipment will be available for juniors and adults.
The sessions will be held in the practice area behind the clubrooms in the Maitai Valley.

Junior golf at Waahi Taakaro Golf Course
We welcome all young people whether they have played golf or not.
Our course is a good place to learn the game, being just a few minutes from the city and with practice nets and hitting area and a putting green.
We can arrange group or individual coaching for you at affordable rates.
There are generous discounts for juniors to play golf and join the club. It cost those still at school just $7 to play a round, while primary and intermediate students pay only $60 a year to be a member of the club and secondary students pay $125 which gives unlimited access to the golf course.

Junior coaching - calling all juniors who want to give golf a go.
The club has begun a basic coaching course for primary, intermediate and secondary students who wish to learn the game.
The 10-week course is free and all equipment is provided.
Lessons are of 45-60 minutes long and are held on Wednesdays from 4.30pm on the practise area at Waahi Taakaro golf course.
They are designed to be first and foremost fun and will be run by our junior convenor Richard Pearson and club member Graeme Bird with assistance from Tasman Golf community golf manager, Chris Pugh.
