Awful day for Old Hickory team

Our Old Hickory team slumped to one of its worst showings for some years, awarded the popgun after finishing a distant last at Greenacres on Thursday (July 7).

Able to muster a team of just five players, the lads failed to fire in what were good winter conditions.

Many of our players struggled on the greens.

Phil Sellers topped our scoring with 30 stableford points. He was followed by Bryan Ramsey (29, Maurice Woodhouse (26) and Warwick King (24). Tom Kennedy (18) was the non counting score.

Waahi Taakaro's dismal total of 109 points was 12 worse than sixth placed Nelson.

Takaka topped the standings with 143 points. Next was Greenacres (140), Tasman (136), Motueka (133), Totaradale (125) and Nelson (121).

The next round is on September 5 at Takaka where we hope for an improved performance.
