Bye pushes Sloan team lower

Our Sloan team has slipped to second last after sitting out the latest round which we hosted at Waahi Taakaro on Sunday (March 21).

On a great autumn day for golf on a course which attracted many favourable comments, top seeds Motueka and Totaradale both flexed their muscles to crush their rivals. Motueka whitewashed Murchison 9-0 while Totaradale did the same to Nelson. Golden Downs thumped Greenacres 8-1 to kickstart their campaign. Tasman and Takaka battled to a 4-all draw.

While we now sit second last, we have played both Motueka and Totaradale and had our bye so with six rounds to go there is still plenty of time to climb the table.

After three rounds, Motueka lead the competition with 23 points with Totaradale three points adrift.

It's a long way back to the pack which is headed by Tasman and Takaka on 12.5 points. They are followed by Greenacres (10), Golden Downs (10.5), Murchison (7), Waahi Taakaro (5.5) and Nelson (5).

The next round is at Takaka on April 11.
