Calling all club volunteers for the clean-up
- 3 September 2022
- Peter Watson
Hi fellow club members, concession ticket holders and supporters,
Now that we have approval from Nelson City Council to help with the golf course clean-up, we want to get stuck in so we can get the course re-opened as quickly as possible.
From Monday (Sept 5) we will be organising daily working bees as well as a big public effort on the weekend of September 10/11.
During the week days we will be starting at 10am. I will send out more info about the Sept 10/11 big clean-up closer to the day.
The more people that can help – even if it is just for short bursts - the sooner we can re-open. We will be concentrating on cleaning up the smaller debris and leaving the bigger stuff to contractors.
If you want to volunteer, please either send me an email or text so I can put together a list for each day. We do need to record who is on the course and their contact details for health and safety purposes.
Please bring with you the following:
A high viz vest or a colourful top. This is a safety measure given there will be contractors with machinery also on the course.
A pair of gloves and a hat if sunny
Sturdy footwear and gumboots so you can wade across the river which is fordable.
A bucket, wheel barrow, rake or shovel
Something to eat and drink, although we will be providing some refreshments
You will be working as a volunteer under our guidance so you are responsible for your own safety.
To volunteer please contact me with your details and when you are available on:
027 4433494 or waahitaakaro@xtra.co.nz or peterw@actrix.co.nz
Kind regards
Peter Watson
