Michael Savage snatched victory on countback in the fourth round of the Barkman Trophy after a fine back nine.
While his front nine of 49 was nothing to write home about, the 17-handicapper turned it around to post a 41 on the way home to finish with a net 73.
It was just good enough to pip Ian Hanford and Dave Blake who also recorded 73s off the white tees in frosty but fine conditions.
Gareth Edward grabbed fourth with a 74. He was followed by a group of five comprising Craig Barron, Maurice Woodhouse, James Campion, Peter Watson and Steve Turnell on 75.
Pete Green (76) and Chris Louth (77) rounded out the top ten.
James Campion was the only golfer to break 80 with a 77.
Craig, Chris and Aaron Kotua all chipped in for twos.
The net round also counted towards Shootout qualification.
Phil Sellers was the best of the 9-holers with an excellent 21 stableford points for the front nine, one ahead of Andrew Dean (20).
Sterling Cathman and Chris Gerrard shared the twos money with one each.
Next Saturday (July 13) we play the fifth round of the Barkman Trophy and Shootout, which is again a net round off the white tees. The 9-holers play a net round off the back nine.
