Club results for April 2, 2022

The opening day of the winter season on Saturday was more like summer as the golden spell of weather shines on.

Fourteen pairs took part in the alternate shot foursomes with drawn partners on a course in mint condition, in particular the greens which were running at a good pace.

With the emphasis on having a relaxed and fun day, the combo of Barbara Kotua and Richard Pearson proved a winner, with an excellent net score of 64.5.

Close behind were Jack Denton and Lindsay Brooks on 65.5.

They were followed by Barry Rhodes and Sali Mann on 67, with Steve Russell and Geoff Halkett (72) and Maurice Woodhouse and Neil McLaren (74.5) filling the minor placings.

Next Saturday (April 9) the competition season starts with the first round of the Brebde senior/junior off the blue tees, which is matchplay with drawn partners with shots given calculated off the lowest handicapper in the group. Please get your name down on the starting sheet in the clubhouse or contact Peter. Depending on the number of entries, it is likely most pairings will get a bye through to the second round on April 23.
