Jonathan Tuheke took the honours but Geoff Halkett grabbed most of the money in the latest club competition.
Played in warm summer conditions on an ever-improving course on Saturday (Dec 15), Jonathan shot an excellent nett 66 off the white tees in the all-irons format to shade Steve Russell (67) by one shot and Geoff by two (69). Fourth was Terry Hemi (70) with Keri Kotua (71) and Rob Willems (73) rounding out the top six.
However, Geoff made it a memorable day by scoring birdies on two of the par threes to claim a $250 jackpot. Jonathan, Steve and Rangi Kohe were others to get a two.
To celebrate Christmas next week we will play a senior/junior pairs alternate shot round which will be followed by a BBQ and a free drink. There will also be a prize for the best dressed Santa Claus. Partners and family are welcome so come along and join in the fun.
