Andy Isle squelched his way to a win in the latest round of the Barkman Trophy on Saturday (June 5).
In weather better for ducks than all but the keenest golfers, Andy made light of the sodden conditions to shoot 77 off the white tees for 37 stableford points to take the honours.
Steve Turnell nabbed second on countback from Lindsay Brooks and Paul Tunnicliff after all finished with 35 points.
The only other golfer in a small field to record over 30 points was Steve Russell (33).
Maurice Woodhouse and Neil McLaren shared the twos money after both birdied No 14, with Maurice going very close to an ace.
The day also doubled as a Shootout round, with Lindsay and Paul coming in with creditable 73s to set the early pace in the season-long competition.
Next Saturday )June 12) is the third round of the individual matchplay, while the match of the day for those not involved is a bisque par off the blue tees.
The draw for the third round sees Paul McCrae verse Alan Church, Lindsay Brooks take on Peter Watson, Warren Carey up against Andy Isle and Barry Rhodes do battle with Jack Denton.
