The final four have been found for the Individual Matchplay.

In sunny conditions on a course soaked by heavy rain earlier in the week,  the eight quarter-finalists battled it out on Saturday (June 6).

At the top of the draw Andy Isle proved too strong for Aaron Kotua in winning 4/2. Andy was always ahead, although Aaron did reduce the deficit to just one down at the turn before Andy eased away to a comfortable victory.

Ian Hanford won the first four holes against Dave Blake  which proved pivotal. Dave hung in there but couldn't make any inroads, eventually succumbing 5/4.

Jack Denton came from three down with seven to play to square the match only to lose the 16th. However, he won the 17th with a par and the 18th with a half to snatch the win off Dean who for a long period looked in charge thanks to some clutch putting. However, his touch deserted him at a crucial time, allowing Jack back in the game.

Paul McCrae's superior putting and chipping saw him take a deserved 3/2 win over Peter Watson in the final tie. Paul led for all but the first hole, although Peter managed to reduce the lead to just one at the halfway mark before Paul chipped in for a birdie two and Peter drove out-of-bounds on the next to put the game out of reach.

In the semi-finals next Saturday (June 13), Andy will take on Ian and Jack will tackle Paul.

In the match of the day - a nett round off the blue tees - Bryan Ramsey prevailed with a 73. Callum Hogg secured second on countback from Paul Tunnicliff after both shot 74. They were followed by Warren Carey (75), Keri Kotua (78), Lindsay Brooks (78), Mike Murphy (79), Jonathan Tuheke (79), Rod Thomason (80) and Maurice Woodhouse (80).

There were three twos, scored by Lindsay Brooks, Rangi Kohe and Paul McCrae.
