Fourth finish for Old Hickory team

Our Old Hickory team finished middle of the pack at Motueka on Thursday (June 3).

The home team showed how it’s done with a dominating victory in the latest round of the inter-club competition, finishing 14 stableford points ahead of Nelson in second.

Rob Shand anchored our team with 35 points but only Barry Rhodes (31) provided any real support. The next best scores were a paltry 25 points each from Richard Pearson, Phil Sellers and Ian Hanford. Bryan Ramsey (24) made up the non-counting numbers.

Apart from Motueka with 144 points, no other team got close to playing to their combined handicap on what was an okay day for golf.

Nelson was next best on 130 followed by Greenacres (123), Waahi Taakaro (116), Totaradale (113) and Takaka (105) while Tasman took away the popgun with an abject 96 points.

The next round is at Nelson on July 1.
