Tom Kennedy headed a big field to win the second round of the Polly Pearce Memorial Trophy on Thursday (March 9).

The 28-handicapper - fresh from helping our Old Hickory team win the trophy last week - completed the back nine in a smart net 33 in pleasant conditions to take home the top prize of the day from 29 others.

There was a three-way tie for second between Jack Denton, Brian Clinton and Ivan Guy who all recorded net 34s.

The trio of Grant Fergusson, John Shaw and Terry Kelso were next with 35 each, while the quartet of Paul McCrae, Jim McMullan, Graham Galt and Noel Shaw played to their handicaps with 36 apiece.

There were no twos scored, although Graham Galt had a collect by taking out the hidden hole.

Next Thursday (March 16) is the third round of the Worley Trophy, which is a Irish stableford off the back nine.
