Paul Tunnicliff is timing his run well going into sharp end of several competitions.

Our club president - who features in the semifinals of the Individual Matchplay on Saturday - was near his best in winning the fifth round of the Polly Pearce Memorial Trophy on Thursday (June 13).

In cold but clear conditions, he posted an impressive net 32 for the front nine playing off an eight handicap. It was just good enough to see off Barry Rhodes who came in with a 33.

Neil Howard and new club member Dick Carter shared third with 34 apiece, while Paul McCrae and Lloyd Moyle were next with 35.

They were followed by a group comprising Graham Strickett, Jack Denton, Bryan Ramsey, Barry Avery, John Shaw and Trevor Atkinson on 36.

No-one managed a two.

Next week (June 20) is the sixth round of the Worley Trophy, which is a stableford round off the front nine.
