Anytime you amass 23 stableford points over nine holes is a good day.

Lloyd Moyle had just that on Thursday (Sept 14) in taking out the second round of the Laurie Ashby Cup.

Playing off a 10 handicap on the back nine, he came in with a fine 41 that started poorly with two sevens in his first three holes but ended superbly with a birdie and three pars.

His 23 stableford was five better than Ian Hanford and Mick Leggett who shared second with 18 each.

Next were the trio of Barry Mitchell, Paul McCrae and Trevor Atkinson on 17 apiece. They were followed by the quartet of Grant Fergusson, Michael Doyle, Noel Shaw and Andrew Dean on 16.

But the biggest collect went to Tom Kennedy who scored the only two of the day, on No 11. The hidden hole was not struck.

Next Thursday (Sept 21) the Golden Oldies play the ninth round of the Worley Cup, which is a net round off the back nine.
