Golden Oldies results for 16/5/24

Our Golden Oldies are a loyal and hardy group and two who epitomise that were to the fore on Thursday (May 16).

Former Waahi Taakaro greenkeeper Gordon Combe and keen club man Phil Sellers shared the honours in the fifth round of the season-long Worley Trophy after both recorded 19 stableford points for the back nine on a breezy but fine autumn day.

Nipping at their heels were the trio of Lloyd Moyle, Roma Elkington and Michael Doyle with 18 points each.

They were followed by a group of five on 17 points comprising John Dixon, Andrew Deans, David Harman, Paul Tunnicliff and Grant Fergusson.

Lloyd had further reason to smile after scooping the twos kitty with the only one, on No 14.

Next Thursday (May 23) the Golden Oldies play a par round off the back nine.
