Ian Hanford ran away with the eighth round of the Worley Cup in the sunshine on Thursday.

Playing off an 11 handicap for the front nine, our Old Hickory selector and former president hit a purple patch to finish with an impressive +5 in the par format to win in a canter.

Next best was Warren Green who recorded a +2. Andrew Dean and Phil Sellers shared third on +1, while Errol Guthardt and Maurice Woodhouse played to their handicap with 0 each.

They were followed by a quartet of Jack Denton, Lloyd Moyle, Noel Shaw and Ivan Guy who came in with -1 to complete the top ten.

Maurice had a decent collect by scoring the only two of the day at No 2, while Ray Hopgood did likewise by winning the hidden hole.

Next Thursday (Aug 24) the Golden Oldies play a net plus putts round off the front nine.
