Ivan Guy is a quiet man who lets his clubs do the talking.

And they were in full voice on Thursday as he recorded an incredible 26 stableford points to easily win the match of the day honours.

On another marvelous summer day, Ivan - who played off a 19 handicap for the front nine - took full advantage of the generous conditions to stride to a four-shot victory.

Ian Hanford was the best of the rest with 22 points, which on most other days would have been a winning score.

Warren Green and Chris Louth shared third with 21 points each, with Jim McMullan and Barry Mitchell next on 20 apiece.

They were followed by the trio of Richard Pearson, John Shaw and Andrew Dean on 19.

A foursome of Michael Doyle, Paul Tunnicliff, Noel Shaw and Heather Carey on `18 points played to their handicaps.

Barry had extra reason to smile after taking home a big collect for the only two of the day.

Next Thursday (Feb 29) the Golden Oldies will play a par round off the front nine.
