Warren Green didn't need the luck of the Irish to stroll to victory in the match of the day on Thursday (May 2).

Playing off a 12 handicap for the back nine, the super veteran amassed 42 points in the Irish stableford format to win by four over Golden Oldies convenor Noel Shaw (38) in the autumn sun.

Paul McCrae and Tom Kennedy shared third on 36 points each.

They were followed by Michael Doyle (35), Mark Sherlaw and Neil Howard with 33 apiece and Maurice Woodhouse (31).

David Monopoli didn't have the best of rounds but still walked away with a good collect from scoring the only two of the day and winning two raffle prizes.

Next Thursday (May 9) the Golden Oldies play the fourth round of the Polly Pearce Memorial Trophy, which is a net round off the back nine.
