Greenacres golfer Paul Hurst came, saw and conquered our Golden Oldies on Thursday (May 9).

While not a stranger to our course, Paul showed how it’s done by taking out the fourth round of the Polly Pearce Memorial Trophy in crisp and sunny conditions.

Playing off a 9 handicap for the back nine, he shot a tidy net 34, which included a two at No 1.

Tied for second on 36 were Ian Hanford, Ray Hopgood ad Michael Doyle, while Phil Sellers and Chris Louth were a further shot back on 37.

They were followed by John McGougan (38) and a group of five comprising Graham Strickett, Lloyd Moyle, Jim McMullan, Warren Green and Heather Carey on 39 apiece.

Grant Fergusson and David Monopoli were others to score twos on No 1, while Heather went home with a decent collect after striking the hidden hole.

With two rounds of the Polly Pearce to go, Michael Doyle, Andrew Dean, defending champ Noel Shaw, Tom Kennedy and Paul McCrae are best place to take overall honours.

Next week (May 16) the Golden Oldies play the fifth round of the Worley Trophy which is a stableford off the back nine.
