Leatai Shield goes east

The Leatai Shield is back in Blenheim after the home club pipped us on stableford points on Saturday (Oct 12).

A contingent of nine Waahi Taakaro players made the trip over the Whangamoas with the shield for the annual challenge but returned empty handed.

When the stableford points were averaged, Blenheim were ahead by 34.4 to 33.6 after using their local knowledge of the tight, tree-lined course in Pollard Park to better advantage.

Our top performers on an ideal day for golf were Jonathan Tuheke (38 points) and Rob Willems and Elton Netto who scored 37 points each.

Better luck next year lads.
