Second round of individual matchplay results

Pat Melville completed the lineup for the third round of the individual matchplay on Saturday, July 7 after overcoming Andy Isle in a hard fought tussle.

Andy made a good start to be 2 up after five holes, but Pat ground away and made some crucial putts to eventually secure a come-from-behind 3/1 win.

Pat now joins seven others in the third round to be played on July 14.

In the earlier ties played on June 30, Elton Netto defeated Mike Savage 3/1, Rod Thomason pipped Steve Russell 1up, Terry Hemi got the better of Jonathan Tuheke 3/2, Rob Willems staged a good comeback to beat Dean Goodman 2/1, Ian Handford edged Paul Tunnifcliff 1up, Mike Murphy overcame Lewis Wilson 4/3 and Bryce Vincent put away Paul McCrae 5/4.
