Sloan team pipped by Motueka

Our Sloan team put up a gallant showing against a powerful Motueka side in the latest round of the Sloan Trophy played at Murchison on March 25.

Despite leading at the halfway mark, the lads couldn't quite close the deal, going down 4-2.

Individual results were:

Keri Kotua lost 1 down

Rob Willems won 3 & 1

Aaron Kotua lost 3.& 1

Pat Melville all square

Jonathan Tuheke all square

Bryan Ramsey lost 5 & 3

 

The team has 6 points from its 2 games after a draw and a lost, with trophy defenders Motueka leading on 15 points.

Meanwhile, Keri and Rob were in the Tasman rep intermediate team which beat North Canterbury at Motueka last weekend (April 7 & 8).

Tasman won the Juniors, Masters & Intermediate grades but went down in the Seniors.
