Summer player of the year

  • 26 March 2020
  • Peter Watson

Jim McMullan is our summer player of the year.

He must surely qualify as the club's most improved player, having reduced his handicap from 43.2 in November to 26.2 now through lots of practice and some excellent performances.

As a runaway winner of the Summer Fedex and also the Stubberfield Cup, Jim topped the standings on 80 points.

Second on 70 points was Lewis Wilson, who took out the Penketh Plate and finished second in the Fedex.

Sharing third on 50 points were Steve Turnell, who was runner-up in the Penketh Plate and the Cap-it-all Promotions Trophy; Peter Watson after a win in the Cap-it-all and a third in the Fedex and Bryan Ramsey, who won the Burns Philp and claimed a hole in one.

Richard Pearson finished sixth on 40 points after his joint victory in the Cap-it-all.

They were followed by the trio of Paul Tunnicliff, Dave Blake and Lindsay Brooks on 25 points, Paul McCrae and Tom Weiss on 20 points each, Andrew Craig with 15 points and Keri and Aaron Kotua, Dean Goodman, Terry Hemi and Peter Green who all got 5 points.

Congratulations guys.

The winter season will begin when the course is reopened after the Covid-19 lockdown. The competition programme will obviously change as a result from that advertised on  our website but club members will be kept informed.
