Tasman terrors for Old Hickory team

Our Old Hickory team found Tasman golf course a frustrating riddle on Thursday (August 13), which left them in last place holding the dreaded popgun.

Despite the calm and sunny conditions, all but Richard Pearson had no answers to the challenge posed by the sloping fairways and slick greens.

Richard ended with 31 stableford points - one of the better scores of the day - but his team members provided little support.

Next best was Tom Kennedy with 26 points followed by Rob Shand (25) and Barry Rhodes (24). Phil  Sellers (21) and Ray Hopgood (19) ruined a good walk.

Totaradale won the trophy with a less-than-spectacular 122 points from Greenacres (120) and Takaka (116). They were followed by Tasman (114), Motueka (111), Nelson (109) and Waahi Taakaro (106).

In a testimony of how tough everyone found it, the individual top score of the day was just 35 points.
