Third place for Old Hickory team

Our Old Hickory team ended the year with a solid third placing at Motueka on Thursday (Dec 5).

For the most part scoring was only moderate on a superbly groomed course in hot conditions. The exception was the Totaradale team  which romped to a comfortable 10-point win over Tasman, with Waahi Taakaro another two points back in third in a plucky defence of the trophy which we won at home in November. Takaka took home the popgun.

Richard Pearson led our scoring with a sound 36 stableford points. He received good backing from Phil Sellers and Peter Watson who collected 34 points each. Elton Netto completed the scoring with 30 points. Our non-scorers were Paul Tunnicliff with 30 points and Bryan Ramsey with 25 points.

The highest scorers of the day were Roger Hall (Motueka), Dennis Hall  and Bill Filmer (Totaradale) who all ended with 38 points. Twos went to Robin Knight (Nelson) and George Jamieson (Tasman).

Team points were: Totaradale 146, Tasman 136, Waahi Taakaro 134, Motueka and Greenacres 132 each, Nelson 129, Takaka 128.
