Warren Carey has won the latest's club match of the day in a canter.

The 27-handicapper shrugged off a snowman on the first hole to record an impressive 43 stableford points on Saturday (Oct 27), which included three four-pointers on the back nine.

He easily won the stableford competition off the white tees from John McGougan, who claimed second on countback with 38 points from Elton Netto and Gordon Davidson. Paul McCrae (37 points) and Steve Turnell (36 points) rounded out the top six. No-one managed a two.

With eight club players away competing in the Country Clubs tournament in Tasman, there was a smaller than usual field who had to contend with wet conditions for their second nine as the rain set in.
