Andy Isle is the winner of the Penketh Plate after withstanding a strong challenge from Andrew Craig.

Going into the final round of Saturday with a three-shot lead, Andy shot a tidy net 68 off the white tees to just hold off Andrew whose net 66 was the top round of the day.

Andy finished the four-round net competition, in which the best three scores counted including the all-irons round, with a total of 212 to shade Andrew's 213.

Graham Galt finished third on 218, while James Campion claimed fourth on countback from Garth Jameson.

Andrew took match of the day honours ahead of Jim McMullan who beat both Andy and Gareth Edwards on countback after all posted 68. Next were Neil McLaren (69) and Graham (70) while Aaron Kotua (71) earned the final Summer Fedex point on offer on countback from Garth (71) and Barry Rhodes (71).

Aaron and Nark Clucas shared the twos money with one each on No 14.

Three golfers shot under 80 - Andy (75), Keri (76) and James (77).

The day also doubled as the Pat Melville Memorial, played by club members 55 and over. Andrew was a deserving winner with his net 66 with Jim securing second on countback.

In the nine-hole competition, Chris Louth and Dave Blake won the four ball best ball with a net 32 off the front nine. Paul McCrae and Phil Sellers and David Monopoli and Barbara Kotua were next with net 34. Andrew Dean earned a little extra with a two on No 2.

Next Saturday (March 8) we play the fourth and final round of the Stubberfield Cup, which is a net plus putts round off the blue tees, while the nine-holers play a stableford off the front nine.
