Club results for 14/10/23

Neil McLaren warmed up for his junior A club final next week by winning the match of the day on Saturday (Oct 14) which was played alongside the club champs semifinals.

The leftie - who plays off a 18 handicap - amassed 39 stableford points after shooting a net 69 off the white tees in blustery conditions on a course made more difficult by lush rough.

Another leftie Warwick King made a rare appearance count by claiming second on countback from Chis Louth after both finished with 38 points.

Next were Michael Murphy and Michael Savage on 36 points apiece, with Aaron Kotua (35) rounding off the top six.

Peter Watson had a moment to remember in what was an otherwise forgettable round when he aced the par-three No 14 hole. His 8-iron took a kind bounce before trundling down the slope to the hole, with the ball coming to rest against the flag. It was his first hole-in-one and helped him finished with 32 points.

The two kitty was shared by James Campion and Ian Hanford who were involved in semifinals.

Next Saturday (Oct 21) we play the finals of the NBS club champs, while those not involved will play a net round off the blue tees.
