Garth Jameson required no luck of the Irish on Saturday (March 15) to win the final match of the day for the summer season at Waahi Taakaro.
The lanky 16-handicapper shot a fine 79 -his best-ever gross score off the blue tees - to also claim the Fedex Cup for the top points scorer over summer.
His win on Saturday, which was worth 10 points, saw him leapfrog from fifth to first in the final standings over Andrew Craig (34), Peter Watson (31) and Lewis Wilson (30).
It signalled a strong return to form after months of struggle.
Garth's 79 translated into 90 stablefords in Saturday's Irish stableford format, which was well ahead of Duncan Isle (80) in second and Gareth Edwards (79) in third.
Next were Pete Green (76), Mick Leggett (75) and Geoff Halkett (71), with James Campion (69) earning the final Fedex point for the day.
Pete Green posted the best gross score of the day, a sharp one-over par 73, while James Campion also broke 80 with a 78 off the stick.
The twos money was shared by Pete Green, Dean Goodman, Graham Eggers and Geoff Halkett who all recorded one each.
Phil Sellers was the best of the nine-holers, shooting a net 33 for the back nine. He was followed by Paul McCrae (34) and John Dixon (35). Daniel Allen bagged the only two.
