Club results for 22/11/25

Ian Hanford and Gabriel Tijsen made the best possible start to the summer season in sharing the lead after the first round of the Penketh Plate on Saturday (Nov 22).

The pair posted excellent net 69s off the blue tees in hot conditions, with Ian winning the match of the day on countback.

Gareth Edwards finished third after coming in with a tidy 71 on a day of good scoring.

The trio of Mark Clucas, Craig Barron and Andy Isle were next with 72 apiece.

Andy and Gabriel carded the best gross scores with 79, with Gabe recording the only two of the day among the 18-holers, on No 5.

Warren Green's fine run of good form continued as he headed the 9-holers with a net 33 of the front nine. Jack Denton took second on countback from Paul McCrae after both shot 35. James Mead - helped by a birdie two at No 5 - was fourth on 36.

Next Saturday (Nov 29) we host the Eagles so tee off at the later time of 10.30am to allow them time to travel to the course. We play the first round of the Burns Philp Cup, which is a stableford off the white tees. The 9-holers will play a par round off the back nine starting at noon.
