Club results for 24/10/26

Gareth Edwards capped off an impressive spring surge, winning the final round of the Barkman Trophy and Shootout in style.

Fresh from claiming his first club champs title the week before in the Junior A grade, the 15-handicapper carded a fine net 66 off the white tees to canter to victory. His 81 off the stick featured a back nine 38 which included a birdie two at the 10th.

The win saw him end up as top qualifier for the Shootout held later in the afternoon.

Chris Louth also enjoyed the sunny conditions, posting a 70 to finish the net competition in second.

Gabriel Tijsen - with a typically tidy 71 - was third.

Maurice Woodhouse took fourth on countback from Mick Leggett after both shot 72.

Matt Tomcyzk was next on 73, while Andrew Bosselmann claimed the final Barkman point from Andy Isle and Nick Riddell after all came in with 74.

Despite having a shocker of a round, Peter Watson claimed the Barkman Trophy for the second successive year by eight points after his nearest challengers Phil Sellers and Dave Huntley couldn't make inroads into his lead.

Nick Riddell recorded the lowest gross, a 77.

Four 18-holers shared the twos money, with Gareth, Mike Williams, James Campion and Jarrod Huss (who missed a jackpot by a whisker) getting one each. Graham Eggers was closest to the pin on No 2.

John Dixon was the best of the 9-holers, with a super net 29 for the front nine. Playing off a 15-handicap, the old stager showed his mettle with a 44 off the stick.

Mike De Veer continued his good form with a 31 for second.
Barry Rhodes took third on countback from Barbara Kotua after both shot 32. Paul McCrae grabbed the final competition point on countback from Brenton Sheppard, Andrew Dodson, Andrew Dean and Jack Denton after all recorded 34 in good scoring conditions.

No-one managed a two.
