We have a congested leaderboard going into the final round of the Six-Hole Challenge on Saturday (Aug 2).

Seven golfers have a realistic chance of taking the title after last Saturday's second round which was again played off the white tees.

Chris Louth and Matt Tomcyzk share the lead with 43 points each. Matt won the match of the day on countback from Keri Kotua after both came in with 23 points in the format that sees each player play three six-hole games of matchplay against drawn partners, with two points awarded for each hole won and one point for a half. Chris recorded 20 points to add to the 23 he got in the first round.

Andy Isle lurks just a point away on 42 after another 21-point effort.

He is followed by Ian Hanford on 41 (22+19) and the trio of Keri (17+23), Pete Green (19+21) and Mike Williams (23+17) on 40. A long shot is first round co-leader James Campion (25+12) on 37.

Graham Eggers - who missed the first round - came third in the match of the day with 22 points.

Keri and his brother Aaron shared the twos money after they both birdied No 11

Keri recorded the best gross of the day, a fine 75, while Pete and Andy shot 79.

Warren Carey was the best of the nine-holers with 16 stableford points off the back nine. He won on countback from Paul Tunnicliff and Ryan Smith, while the quartet of Lloyd Moyle, Ali Mawby, Dan Allen and Andrew Dean were next with 15 points apiece.

Next Saturday (Aug 2) the nine-holers play a par round off the front nine.
