Andy Isle's golden summer goes on.

Fresh from winning the Burns Philp Cup, he took out the second round of the Stubberfield Cup on Saturday to put himself well in contention for more silverware.

Playing off a 9 handicap off the blue tees on a day that turned out fine, he shot an impressive net 67 to go with just 26 putts to total an unbeatable 93 in the net plus putts four-round competition.

His 76 off the stick comprised a 39 on the front nine and a 37 on the back nine which include two birdies to offset a double at No 15.

In a tight race for second, Garth Jameson shaded competition frontrunner Aaron Kotua on countback after both recorded net 69 and 26 putts for 95.

Jonathan Tuheke (70+25) also finished on 95 but his higher net meant he was pushed back to fourth.

Steve Russell (69+29) continued his revival with a fifth place finish.

He was followed by Phil Sellers (72+27), Bryan Ramsey (69+32), Peter Green (74+31) and  Peter Watson (78+27), with Graham Galt (72+35) completing the top 10.

Andy, Aaron, Phil and Warwick King shared the twos money, with one each.

There was some keen competition among the 9-holers before Paul Tunnicliff (36+12) prevailed over Paul McCrae (39+13), with Warren Carey (37+17) pipping his wife Heather (38+16) for third with the better net score.

Next Saturday (Feb 4) we play the fourth and final round of the Penketh Plate, which is a net round off the white tees, while the 9-holers play a net round off the front nine.
