Club results for 28/10/23

It was Steve Turnell’s turn at the top on Saturday.

The genial 35-handicapper put some tough times on the course in recent months behind him to come up trumps in the match of the day.

His excellent 39 stableford points off the white tees was just enough to push Phil Sellers – who ended with 38 points - into second.

Mick Leggett took third on countback from Paul Tunnicliff after both scored 35 points on what was a pleasant day for golf.

Roma Elkington and Warren Carey were next with 34 points each in a field reduced because nine were away playing the Country Clubs tournament in Takaka.

Paul had the compensation of scoring the only two of the day.

Paul McCrae won the 9-hole competition on countback from Ali Mawby and Lloyd Moyle after all finished with 18 points playing the front nine.

Next Saturday (Nov 4) we play the Maitai Masters.
