Club results for August 24, 2019

The quarter-finalists for the club champs have been found after the third qualifying round was completed on Saturday (Aug 24).

After been washed out the previous week mid-round, the weather was sunny and calm for the final qualifier and scoring was much lower as a result.

Terry Hemi took top honours in the match of the day - a nett round - with a 67, pushing Steve Russell back into second on countback. Graham Eggers claimed yet another third placing on countback from Bryce Vincent and Alan Church after all shot 72. Jonathan Tuheke finished ahead of Andy Isle in sixth after both shot 73, while Elton Netto, Jason Lee and Paul Tunnicliff  rounded off the top 10 with 74s. Rob Willems and Jason Lee shared the twos money.

After their best two of three gross rounds were totalled, the draw for the quarter-finals - to be played on September 7 - was  made.

In the seniors, the top two qualifiers - Rob Willems (1) and Andy Isle (2) - got byes through to the semi-finals. In the other ties, Peter Watson (3) will play Dean Goodman (6) and Keri Kotua (4) will play Bryce Vincent (5).

Paul Tunnicliff heads the intermediate grade where he will take on No 8 qualifier Elton Netto. Steve Russell (2) will do battle with Paul McCrae (7), Jonathan Tuheke (3) will go head to head with Jason Lee (6) and Graham Eggers (4) and Maurice Woodhouse (5) will face off.

Junior A top qualifier Dave Blake will play Lewis Wilson (8), Brendon Doyle (2) takes on Dave Slow (7), Alan Church (3) is up against Bryan Ramsey (6) and Mike Murphy (4) and Dave Huntley (5) will square off.

With only four qualifiers, the Junior Bs will go straight to semi-finals to be played on September 14, with Warren Carey (1)  battling Brad Crabb (4) and Steve Turnell (2) taking on Jim McMullan (4).
