Club results for August 31, 2019

Peter Watson sprung into life on a beautiful spring day  to win Saturday's club competition, a par round off the white tees.

After a run of poor scores, the veteran left hander - who plays off a 8.4 handicap - was in vintage form in shooting 74 off the stick for a +6 total, which included two birdies and just four bogies.

However, his nett 65 was only just good enough for the win as  Steve Russell showed he was in good form leading up the club champs with a +5 score (nett 67) which got him second place on countback from Steve Turnell.

Elton Netto grabbed fourth on countback from Lewis Wilson after both finished with +4.

Brendan Doyle, Paul McCrae and Rod Thomason followed on +3.

A cluster of six golfers - Bryan Ramsey, Mike Murphy, Paul Tunnicliff, Terry Hemi, Rob Willems and Warren Carey - ended on +1.

Steve Russell and Rob Willems - who eagled the 17th - shared the twos money.

Next Saturday is the quarter-finals of the club champs. There have been some changes to the draw after several late withdrawals so please check the results board in the clubrooms to see who you are playing.
