Christmas came early for Keri Kotua when he cleaned up in the second round of the Burns Philp on Saturday (Dec 21.)
The 8.4 handicapper shrugged off a slow start to shoot an impressive 78 off the blue tees in breezy conditions for 39 stableford points to top the standings for the day. That earned him one meat pack and he won another in a raffle and also some cash for scoring one of only two twos of the day. He also took out the haggle.
Tom Weiss snared second on countback from Dave Blake - who scored the other two - after both finished with 38 points, Brad Crabbe - dressed in a festive shirt and making an all too rare appearance - took fourth on countback from Peter Watson after both collected 37 points.
Bryan Ramsey, Warren Carey and Aaron Kotua were next with 36 points, with Paul McCrae a further point back in ninth. Terry Hemi took 10th from Lewis Wilson on 33 points.
Next week (Dec 28) is the third round of the Penketh Plate, which will be a nett round off the blue tees.
Have a great Christmas everyone and happy golfing.
