Club results for Feb 22, 2020

Warren `Wazza' Carey may not have been keen on the prize but he was a worthy winner of the Worley Trophy on Saturday (Feb 22).

The genial 25-handicapper showed the rest of the field a clean pair of heels to cruise to a 2-shot win in the competition for those 55 and over by shooting an excellent nett 64 in ideal conditions off the white tees.

Tied for second on nett 66 were last year's winner Andrew Craig, Mike Murphy and Dave Huntley. On the same score was a `youngster' Peter Green who picked up points in the Summer Fedex.

They were followed by Andy Isle and Tom Weiss on 71. Another couple of under 55s, Keri Kotua and Jonathan Tuheke, also recorded 71.

Four players - Barry Rhodes, Aaron Kotua, Steve Russell and Dean Goodman finished on 72 - to complete the top dozen.

Visitor Selwyn Ryan scored two twos in an otherwise wayward round, while Dave Huntley and Steve Russell also grabbed one apiece. 

Next Saturday (Feb 29) is the fourth and final round of the Stubberfield Cup followed by a club working bee from 2pm.
