Lewis Wilson outgunned Keri Kotua to claim the latest club competition, an Irish stableford played off the white tees, on Saturday (Feb 9).

Both men played superb golf, shooting their best rounds for a number of years to record nett 61s.

However, Lewis - who shot an 82 off the stick - prevailed because he played the final 6 holes - where triple points are on offer - better.

He ended up amassing an eye-watering 98 stableford points, five more than Keri who had four birdies in an excellent 70 off the stick.

Steve Turnell claimed third with 87 points, while Rob Willems pipped Geoff Halkett for fourth on countback after both totalled 86 points.

Next were Andy Isle (85 points), Pat Melville (82 points) and Manu Edmonds (81 points), with Dean Goodman finishing 9th on countback from Paul Tunnicliff after both finished with 80 points.

Most players took advantage of the parched conditions to score above their handicap.

Jack Denton, Dean Goodman, Rangi Kohe and Peter Watson earned a small payout with twos.
