Club results for January 18, 2020

Bryan Ramsey has waited more than 25 years to hit the perfect shot.

And on Saturday (Jan 18) he finally hit his first ace, using a hybrid to hole out at the 179m Par 3, the ball kicking off the grass bunker to the left of the green and rolling gently into the cup much to the delight of Bryan and his playing partners.

While his shot was memorable, the rest of his round didn't match those dizzying heights, but the beer still flowed freely in the clubrooms afterwards. 

A familiar name dominated the first round of the Stubberfield Cup - played off the blue tees in warm and still day, with Jim McMullan winning for the third week in a row to open up a big lead in the Summer Fedex. Jim was again in top form in shooting a nett 62 which with 32 putts gave him a total of 94.

Tom Weiss had another good week in finishing second with 97 points (67 + 30), two ahead of Paul McCrae (70+29).

Andrew Craig (71+30) claimed fourth on countback from Rob Willems (73+28).

Dave Huntley (70+32) edged Paul Tunnicliff (75+27). Warren Carey (71+32) came eighth, while Peter Watson (75+29) and Terry Hemi (74+31) finished in the top ten.

Terry Hemi and Andy Isle scored the only twos of the day.
