Jim McMullan is becoming something of a summer golf specialist after cantering to another win, this time in the third round of the Penketh Plate.

The 30-handicapper shot an impressive nett 67 off the blue tees to win by four and surge into the lead in the Summer Fedex.

Paul McCrae claimed second from Barry Rhodes and Tom Weiss on countback after all three came in with nett 71s.

Stephen Russell overcame a dose of the hooks to finished fifth on 72, with Maurice Woodhouse (73) was one shot back in sixth.

Rangi Kohe grabbed the final fedex point of the day when he pipped Brendan Doyle for seventh on countback after both ended with 74s.

No-one managed a two so the pool jackpots to next week (Feb 6) when we play the fourth and final stableford round of the Burns Philp.
