Andy Isle demonstrated yet again why he is one of the top golfers in the club by winning his second Barkman Trophy round in a row.
He shot a tidy 77 off the stick from the white tees to be the only golfer in the field to finish under his handicap, despite sunny overhead conditions.
In a good warm-up for the Sloan inter-club competition the following day, his nett 71 was two better than Alan Church (73) and four better than Peter Green (75) who pipped Charlie Edgarton (75) on countback.
Lindsay Brooks was fifth on countback from Dave Blake after both carded nett 76s. Paul McCrae took the final Barkman Trophy point on offer in coming home seventh with 77.
The nett match of the day also doubled as a Shootout round, with Alan Church, Lindsay Brooks and Dave Blake all improving their standings.
The twos money had to be shared amongst five players, with Paul Tunnicliff, Rangi Kohe, Andy Isle, Dave Blake and Steve Russell all grabbing one.
Next Saturday (July 10) is another Barkman Trophy round (a stableford off the white tees) and Shootout round.
