Andy Isle will play Paul McCrae in the final of the Individual Matchplay next Saturday (June 20) after both won through after tough tussles.

Andy was three down at the turn against Ian Hanford who shot an excellent 45 off the stick and was seemingly in complete control. However, Ian suddenly lost his mojo, with Andy winning the next four holes playing steady par golf and making some good putts. He then turned the screw by taking the 16th before ending the game on the 17th for a 3/1 victory, which was even more meritorious as he had to give Ian 15 shots.

Paul McCrae and Jack Denton traded holes early on, with Paul finishing the front nine one up. He doubled his lead on the 15th only to lose the 16th. A half at the 17th meant it was all still to play for going down the last, but Paul sealed the deal by winning the hole with a good putt for a 2 up triumph.

In the match of the day on Saturday (June 13) - a stableford round off the white tees - Rod Thomason rolled back the years in finishing first with 39 points.

The rest of the field found the winter conditions more difficult, but Warwick King took second on countback from Tom Weiss and Paul Tunnicliff after all ended with 35 points.

They were followed by Stephen Russell (33), Jasper Broad-Kolff (32), Alan Church (32) , Winton Griggs (31) and Peter Watson (29). Jim McMullan rounded off the top 10 with 29 points.

Jonathan Tuheke and Tom Weiss shared the twos money.
