Brendan Doyle had a day to remember, breaking 90 for the first time to win the match of the day on Saturday (March 6).

The big hitting 22.5 handicapper was out in 43 and back in 45 for an 88 off the white tees to garner an impressive 40 stableford points.

It was just good enough to pip Bryan Ramsey on countback who shot an excellent 82, which included a jackpot from two chip-ins birdies on No 5 and No 11. It was the second jackpot in successive weeks and netted him $250.

Rangi Kohe finished third with 37 points, followed by John McGougan and Dean Goodman on 36 points each.

Steve Turnell (32) and Neil McLaren (31) made up the top seven in what was a small field depleted because a group of club members were playing in the NBS Nelson Open and others were over competing in Picton.

Other twos went to Dean, John and Rangi.

Next week (March 13) is the first round of the Cap-it-all Trophy, a four ball best ball with selected partners off the blue tees. The second round - an individual nett - is on March 20.
