The final four pairs have been found for the Brebde Senior/Junior semi-finals.

Elton Netto and Winton Griggs had the easiest route, cruising to a 4/3 win over Alan Muir and Paul Suan in the autumn sunshine.

Andy Isle and Andrew Craig eventually subdued a gallant Maurice Woodhouse 3/2 after Maurice's partner Warren Carey couldn't play because of sickness.

Terry Hemi and Jim McMullan ground out a 2/1 victory over Jason Lee and Barry Rhodes, while Warwick King and Peter Watson came from three down to edge Graham Eggers and Rangi Kohe on the final hole after Warwick sunk a 20 foot putt for the win in a match peppered with six birdies.

The semi-finals will be played next Saturday (May 25)

In the match of the day, a nett round off the white tees, scores were high as many players struggled to come to terms with the uncut rough and fairways.

Pat Melville prevailed in a countback over Paul McCrae who took second on a countback from Dave Blake, with all three shooting nett 74s. Next were Jack Denton and Dean Goodman on 75s and Phil Sellers on 76.

There were four twos, with Rangi Kohe, Rod Thomason, Barry Rhodes and Pat Melville getting one apiece.

Next Saturday's match of the day is a stableford round off the white tees.
