The finalists for the Brebde senior-junior have been found after two hard fought semi-finals on Saturday (May 8).

Dave Blake and Jim McMullan were two down after 10 holes against Jonathan Tuheke and Steve Turnell, but won four of the next eight holes on the back of some strong play by Dave to power to a 2/1 win.

The Steve Russell and Andrew Craig verse Bryan Ramsey and Lewi Wilson match saw the lead change frequently over the first 10 holes until Steve and Andrew - who both chipped in at key times and played solidly - grab a two-hole advantage which they never relinquished in winning 2/1.

The final will be played at a date to be confirmed.

In the match of the day - a par round off the white tees - Mike Murphy made no race of it with an impressive +6 score that also include a two-shot penalty for playing the wrong ball. The 23-handicapper shot 89 off the stick in calm and overcast conditions to canter to victory.

Three golfers finished with a creditable +3 total, with Paul Tunnicliff claiming second on countback from Lindsay Brooks and Andy Isle.  Andy's 75 was the best gross of the day while Paul's 80 was second best.

Charlie Edgarton and Maurice Woodhouse were next with +2. They were followed by Peter Green and Paul McCrae on 0. Warwick King with -1 and Barry Rhodes with -2 made up the top 10.

The twos money was shared by Andrew Craig, Paul Tunnicliff, Neil McLaren and Maurice Woodhouse.

Next week (May 15) is the first round of the individual matchplay. If you want to enter please put your name on the start sheet upstairs in the clubhouse or contact Peter as soon as possible. The second round is on May 22.
