Winning is becoming a habit for Mick Leggett who played a blinder as our course reopened for club competitions after being closed for a month due to the devastating floods.

Mick swept away the opposition with a brilliant 47 stableford points in the latest round of the Barkman Trophy played in still and sunny weather. His 92 off the stick - his best ever 18 holes - translated into a net 61 which also took him to the top of the Shootout standings and continued a rich vein of recent form.

Well back in second was Neil McLaren who totalled 38 points in one of his best rounds for a while.

Ian Hanford was the only other golfer in the small field to play to his handicap, ending with 36 points.

With just seven holes in play, golfers played No 1 and 3/12 twice more to make up the 18 holes.

Aaron Rodrigues finished fourth with a handy 34 points. He was followed by Mike Murphy (33), who scooped the twos pool with the only one of the day and Barry Rhodes (31). Maurice Woodhouse (31) claimed the final Barkman point on offer.

Next week (Sept 24) we play the first qualifying round of the NBS club champs which also doubles as the first round of the C&F Legal Stroke so please get your name down on the starting sheet. We will tee off after the club AGM which starts at 9am in the clubhouse.
