Golden Oldies results for 12/2/26

Like the Arsenal football team he ardently supports, Ray Hopgood finished top of the leaderboard on Thursday (Feb 12).

Playing off a 13 handicap for the back nine, Ray took full advantage of the warm summer conditions to post an excellent net 32 to head a big field.

Mark Sherlaw and Michael Doyle shared second with 33 on a day of good scoring.

The trio of Ray Kennedy, Ali Mawby and John Dixon were next on 34. They were followed by another threesome comprising Warren Green, Richard Pearson and Dick Carter who all carded 35. Chris Louth and Lloyd Moyle rounded off the top echelon with 36.

Surprisingly, no one managed a two and the hidden hole was not struck.

Next Thursday (Feb 19) the Golden Oldies play the first round of the Polly Pearce Memorial Trophy, which is a net round off the front nine.
