Putting is an integral part of the game and never more so than when you are playing a net plus putts round.

The good putters can make up plenty of ground, even if they are slightly off the pace.

In the second round of the Worley Trophy on another sunny summer's day, Maurice Woodhouse completed the front nine in a handy enough net 34 - which was three off the top - but his 12 paltry putts saw him finish in a share of first with Mick Leggett.

Mick -  who has returned from a holiday in good form.- mixed a net 33 with 13 putts to also total 46.

There was a three-way tie for second on 47 between Chris Louth (33+14), Barry Mitchell (33+14) and Terry Kelson (31+16).

There were no twos, but Warren Green struck the hidden hole, No 8, chipping in for par for a net two.

Next Thursday (Feb 22) the Golden Oldies play a stableford round off the front nine starting at 10am.
