The Langley Trophy always has a hint of mystery about it as you don't know who you've drawn as a partner until after your first round.
Mark Sherlaw and Paul McCrae will be hoping for the perfect match-up after heading the field in the opening round on Thursday (Oct 26).
They both shot +2 for the front nine in the two-round par format, which was two better than the chasing pack.
A group of six comprising Paul Tunnicliff, Phil Sellers, Trevor atkinson, Noel Shaw, John Dixon and Richard Pearson were next on 0.
Bryan Ramsey and Roma Elkington completed the top ten with -1.
Former Waahi Taakaro member Elton Netto scored the only two of the day as well as winning a raffle.
The hidden hole was not struck.
Next Thursday (Nov 2) the Golden Oldies play a stableford round off the front nine.
